THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF THE LIME FRUIT

Well health experts and researchers   have discovered that regular use of the lime fruit in your diet and body is another way to keep the doctor away.

According to Healthy Living Magazine by Rev. Tony Akinyemi the lime fruit contains very high amounts of vitamin C and Citrus bioflavonoid. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant. And natural vitamin C is much more effective than the synthetic ones.

Apart from its regular use in food supplements and cooking, the lime fruit can be used for so many things.

In Africa, the lime fruit has been used to cure all kinds of common sickness such as Catarrh, Malaria, Cholera, Diphtheria, Typhoid, Cold and other deadly disease. Before the advent of Orthodox medicine our ancestors used the lime fruit to treat disease. Our Fathers robbed slices of lime- juice on bruise and scratches they got while working on the farm. Furthermore, many people don’t know that the lime fruit can be used to detoxify. You don’t need to spend so much money in buying special drugs to detoxify. Drinking freshly squeezed lime in the morning helps to stimulate the liver to detoxify. However, when doing this one should not take concentrated lime. It should be diluted with water before taking it. Pure lime- juice is high in acid which may be injurious to the enamel of our teeth. The body is well cleansed if lime- juice is mixed with cold water and honey and the mixture is taken on an empty stomach early in the morning.

Apart from its nutritional benefits in food, the lime fruit is a good product for beauty regime.  A little addition of lime fruit to your bathing water will help exfoliate your skin(shedding of dead skin cells). It removes dirt that has accumulated and blocked your skin pores then lives you glowing and shining like you just paid a visit to the spa.

Women can place a slice of lime fruit to get rid of baggy eyes, dark circles and wrinkles.  Also regular application of lime fruit to your face lives it shining and glowing.
